Communication Installations

Did you know: If each strand of fiber on campus was connected end-to-end, the Telecommunications Center has 2,941,016 feet or 557.01 miles of fiber installed. This includes the fiber backbone and fiber connecting each building to the backbone. The amount will increase as additional fiber is installed to new or renovated buildings.


Inside Plant

The Telecommunications Center is responsible for inside wiring installation and support of Cable Television, Network and Telephones in University buildings. All requests for service; new installations, problems with existing lines, etc. should be via notifications in SAP. For Campus building wiring standards please click here.


Outside Cable Plant

The Telecommunications Center has installed and maintains an extensive network of fiber optics cable throughout the campus.This fiber plant is continually upgraded as needed in order to best serve the university.
